NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Welcome to Cortland Enlarged City School District!  Before starting your registration, please have all required documents available. Please answer all questions fully.  There will be a section in the application process where you will be asked to upload documents, i.e.; proof of residency, birth certificate, photo identification, etc. If you are not able to upload documents, you may bring them to the Registration office. You will also need to print and complete the additional required documents posted at the bottom of this page. Thank you in advance for your patience with the registration process! 

Registrations cannot be processed in the absence of required documents

The following items must be submitted along with the registration forms in order to be processed:

             Proof of Residency

             Proof of Age

             Immunization Records

             Custody Agreements and/or Court Orders including any Stay Away Orders and/or

 Orders of Protection

For your reference, please review the following list of acceptable documents for the registration process:

Acceptable Proof of Age

• Original/Copy of Birth Certificate
• Valid Passport
• Baptismal Record
• If none of the above documents are available, you may also provide any one of the following so long as the document displays the child’s valid date of birth.
• Official driver’s license or learner's permit
• State or other government-issued identification
• School Photo ID Card
• Consulate Identification Card
• Health Records
• Documents issued by federal, state, or local government agencies
• Court order or court-issued documents
• Native American tribal documents

Please note that expired documents will be deemed invalid and not accepted as proof. All submitted documents must have a current date of issue.

Proof of Authorization to Enroll Student:

Must be a parent (natural or adoptive); legal guardian or state-appointed foster parent

Provide one of the following:

• Current NYS Driver’s License
• State Identification card
• Passport

Custody Documents:

If the student is not living with both parents and a custody arrangement exists, please provide:

• Court-ordered custody arrangement

 Proof of Residency - Provide one of the following:

• Current lease/rental agreement
• Current residential property tax statement or bill
• Proof of ownership of home such as deed or current mortgage statement
• Current homeowner’s/renter’s insurance policy
• Notarized third-person affidavit (If living with another person/family, a notarized third-person affidavit of residency containing the signature of the person with whom the family is living with and the signature of the parent/legal guardian.
• Statement by a third-party landlord, owner, or tenant from whom the parent or guardian leases the residence from, within the district, provide a notarized statement of residency
• Current Pay stub (must show current address)
• Current Utility or other bills (must show current address)

Immunizations/Physicals

Provide both: 

• Valid immunization records
• Physical form (NYS Education Department requirement for new enrollments)

Please let the Registrar know if your student may have been registered with us previously.

NOTE: It may take the school a few business days to prepare a student schedule. 

 The school will notify you as to when your child(ren) may begin attending.
